Arkansas River

 

The following files include a Breakout of the Arkansas Riverbed Properties by Section, Township, and Range—updated 05-15-20123.

The Cherokee Nation owns all that portion of the Arkansas River from Three Forks to the Mouth of the Canadian River. Cherokee Nation Ownership. This includes the wet bed river and all of the old dry bed.

The balance of the Arkansas Riverbed ownership is owned 50 percent by the Cherokee Nation, 37.50 percent by the Choctaw Nation, and 12.50 percent by the Chickasaw Nation for all that portion of the Arkansas Riverbed from Section 2-11n-21e thru 10n-23e, most of the ownership is under   Kerr Lake.  

That portion of the Arkansas Riverbed from 10n-24e through 11n-27e was part of the Disclaim Riverbed, included in the Settlement Act. The three tribes reserve the wet bed and some unallotted tracts scattered along the old 1897 riverbed.  Wet bed Lands
